CK

Ken Mendola

Ken stumbled into coaching quite by accident.  He had a nursing degree but his interest in health and fitness took him to a different direction.  Already a running enthusiast as a member of the Pukers running group founded by Coach Jim Lafferty, he strongly felt that he could take his interest to the next level by studying to be a running Coach himself.  Taking advantage of his time spent in the United States with his parents, he took the Certification Course offered by the USATF, (USA Track & Field) a United States national governing body for the sports of track and field, cross country running, road running, and racewalking.

Upon his return, he began accepting trainees who immediately appreciated Coach Ken’s attention to detail and keen interest in turning non-runners into not just recreational runners but passionate runners who seek to maximize their potential in the sport.  Many trainees note his knack for accurately gauging a runner’s capacity and predicting race times based on current fitness level.  More importantly,  he is known for his genuine concern for his athletes and instilling in them a genuine love for the sport.  Under his leadership WeKenRun was born and has grown into the community that it is today.

Coach Pords

Renz "Pords" Lerio

AC Pords has been an avid runner and biker since 2010.  His humble beginnings as a bike mechanic didn’t stop him from learning more about both sports through self study and attending courses on endurance racing and strength and conditioning.  His skill has caught the attention of runner and biker friends who began following programs he would, as a hobby, design for them, which later on translated to PBs and overall improvements in performance.  He also practices what he preaches as can be gleaned from various podium finishes.

The many WeKenRunners whom he paces on their run assignments regularly can attest that they learn so much about running mechanics and the many other technical aspects of the sport just by chatting with him.  He is, many would say, WeKenRun’s resident running geek.

Coach P

Precious Que Aguilar

WeKenRunners learn their ABCs, i.e., the A, B, and C skips from their favorite Strength and Conditioning Coach, Coach P.  Hers is an enviable combination of physique, skill and discipline which has brought her gold, silver and bronze victories in countless national events such as heptathlons and 100 meter hurdles.

Her long list of Certifications and Diplomas include being a Level 4 World Obstacle Course Racing Coach, Certified SKLZ Triggerpoint and Performance Coach, Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association Coach, just to name a few.  She is a National Coach for the Obstacle Sports Philippine Team and has been a brand ambassador of a leading running shoe and sports watch brands. Her stellar achievements have brought honor to the country and is a source of inspiration to WeKenRunners. Her S & C program has definitely enriched the training of WeKenRunners who have since seen marked improvements in their running.

Coach Dean

Dean Ellison Cunanan

Nowadays, AC Dean is popular for his daily vlogs about running life—and for good reason.  He chronicles the inner thoughts, hopes, joys and frustrations of the everyday non-elite runner.  Ironic because his credentials show he is actually an overachiever.  This former track and field varsity captain founded the EZ Run Club and, in just the past few years, has had a string of podium finishes in both road and trail races.

He is a people person and is very easygoing so trainees are not at all intimidated to approach him for practical tips on running and life.  One would be surprised to learn that he actually graduated from Fine Arts at the State University. No one will contest though that he is very skilled at the fine art of running.

Coach Chloi

Yve Chloi Mae Aclo

She has the grace of a college cheerleader but is actually a collegiate running Coach and sprinter.  She says she practically grew up in the track, having trained since she was ten years old.  She was a former member of the Unversity of the East’s Track and Field Team. After she finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Education Major in Sports and Wellness Management, she took her Masters in Physical Education.

When not collecting silver and bronze medals in national running, steeple chase, and walking competitions, she juggles her time between coaching a University running team and working as a personal trainer in one of the major fitness centers. Now, as part of the WeKenRun Coaching Team, she helps WeKenRunners achieve their individual goals by helping them crush speed runs or complete challenging workouts.  The trainees get extra assurance with the fact that AC Chloi has completed courses on Emergency Preparedness and Response Management in Sports.  She is indeed so young and so accomplished.
